What it is

Slow, attentive touch

MER® was developed by Satyarthi Peloquin, who has taught bodywork for decades. It combines slow, attentive touch through the layers of connective tissue (fascia) with myofascial unwinding, assisted stretches, joint mobilisation, conscious breathing and gentle verbal guidance.

The person receiving takes an active part: they breathe, notice and give feedback, while the practitioner adjusts the pressure to what feels right. Meditation runs through the whole training as a way of working with calm presence.

Structure

Seven modules, in any order

Each module lasts 6 days (about 50 hours of theory and practice) and focuses on one area of the body. After every module you can give a whole session.

  1. Self-Empowerment · Back, Neck, Pelvis & BreathThis module explores the back, neck, pelvis and breath through fascia-based bodywork with deep touch, breath and movement. Themes include spinal and shoulder tension patterns, the pelvis as a centre of stability and grounding, and a listening quality of touch. It is open to beginners and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners and yoga or movement teachers.30.04.–05.05.2027
  2. Grounding · Feet, Legs & HipsThis module works with the feet, legs and hips — the foundation of stability and connection with the ground. Through deep touch, joint mobilisation and assisted stretches, you practise with the plantar fascia, knees, hips and the outer leg line. Open to beginners and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners and yoga or movement teachers.01.10.–06.10.2027
  3. Centering · Pelvis & Core IntegrationThis module focuses on the pelvis and core as the structural and energetic centre of the body. Through deep touch, breath and movement you practise integrating the pelvis, pelvic floor and key structures such as the iliopsoas and deep hip rotators. Open to anyone wanting to work with fascia and core integration, and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners and yoga or movement teachers.2028 · dates TBC
  4. Original Face · Face, Cranium, Neck, Arms & Vagus NerveThis module works with the face, cranium, neck, arms and the vagus nerve — the upper body as a whole. Through deep touch, breath and precise techniques you explore fascial connections that shape breathing, posture and expression. Open to anyone wanting to work with fascia in the upper body, and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners, craniosacral practitioners and yoga or movement teachers.2028 · dates TBC
  5. Inspiration · Opening the Breath: Thorax & DiaphragmThis module opens the breath by working with the thorax, diaphragm, rib cage, spine and shoulders. Through deep touch, breath and movement you practise restoring fuller, more natural breathing patterns and bringing them into a complete MER® session. Open to anyone wanting to work with fascia and the power of breath, and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners, breathwork practitioners and yoga or movement teachers.2029 · dates TBC
  6. Fluid Body · Joint Release & Joint MobilisationThis module restores joint mobility and fluid movement through fascia-based bodywork. Using deep touch, passive movement and breath you practise joint release across the major joints and the integrative wave — a full-body passive movement that supports ease and coordination. Open to bodyworkers, massage practitioners, osteopaths, movement practitioners and yoga teachers, and to anyone wanting to improve mobility and understand fascia.2029 · dates TBC
  7. Trauma Release · Breath, Fascia & Emotional ReleaseThis module explores how physical tension and emotional holding patterns are held in the fascia, and how to support their release through deep touch, breath and movement. You practise myofascial unwinding, staying present with emotional expression, and working with the body's natural capacity for self-regulation — without forcing change. Open to anyone wanting to learn how to work with trauma through deep bodywork, and to bodyworkers, massage practitioners, breathwork practitioners and somatic practitioners.2029 · dates TBC

Experiences

In their words

What MER® students say about the training.

“A lot of tension was relieved, and the massages — whether done by the participants or by Nisarga — were just amazing! By day 5, the mobility in my legs had improved far beyond what I ever expected. So much so that I even did a split that same night! My previously frozen arms felt much lighter as well. All the knowledge we gained was incredibly useful.”
Michael, MER® student
“Thanks to the hands-on approach over several days, it was a highly productive and enjoyable experience. I also really enjoyed the morning program, which included shaking, morning meditation and dance movements. These are practices I'm going to continue from now on. The generally relaxed atmosphere was something I truly appreciated.”
Monika, MER® student
“During the MER® training with Nisarga, I particularly enjoyed the sense of community, the teaching style and the excellent anatomy explanations. It was a great training experience. I learned a lot of new skills and gained deeper self-awareness.”
Tom, MER® student
“When I signed up for the training with Nisarga, I was seeking quality bodywork, intimacy and the opportunity to work with touch. During the training, I realized how much I miss physical touch with other humans in my life. I loved the connection and the chance to experience different types of people through massage exchanges. It was a fascinating journey.”
Mark, MER® student
“In the MER® training with Nisarga, I developed new skills that align with my dream of becoming a body-oriented practitioner. I'm especially thankful for learning about fascia and the power of touch. I also appreciated the structure of each day — it was such a great experience.”
Anna, MER® student
“It was an excellent training with a positive, supportive team and teacher. This was my second MER® training, as I wanted to enhance my skills further, and I'm very happy with everything I gained in those six days with Nisarga.”
Sarah, MER® student
